I would buy Villa d'Este if it ever goes on sale and if I could ever afford it. But that's never going to happen. It's a UNESCO site!

But here's why I fell in love with the villa. The garden is filled with water fountains and frescoes cover the walls inside each room.

The villa is located about two hours by train outside of Rome in Tivoli. It is an oasis.

The design and layout of the garden is so peaceful. I felt like I was in a world away from the madness of the 21st century.

The garden is one of the best examples of Renaissance garden design.

I had been wanting to go for almost a year! And finally decided to go. But was worried about the rain. By the time I arrived there was a HUGE black cloud in the distance. So that made me rush through the garden as soon as I got to the villa. I did miss the full performance of the water organ, as soon as I got to
the villa I saw the last two minutes of the performance. It never did rain and it was a beautiful afternoon!
