I have no idea how to live like a Medici. But I can suggest some really cool places to visit.

Every time I've visited Florence I love to image what it was like living as a member of the Medici Family in Florence back when the family reigned.

You can totally see Florence in one day. It's a small city. If you do, I highly suggest to purchase museum tickets in advance to save time.

Besides visiting the Duomo and David. Here are three other places to put your itinerary:

ree
The Basilica di Santa Croce (A Franciscan church home to nearly 300 tombs, including those of Michelangelo and Galileo. And a beautiful statue that is the "sister" to Lady Liberty in New York. It also houses the Pazzi Chapel, the rival family of the Medici. So plan a visit to the- Temple of the Italian Glories.)

ree
Scuola del Cuoio (Leather is a craft perfected in Tuscany.)

ree
Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella (For over 400 years, this place has been making perfumes.)

For the best Florentine street food! Fresh focaccia bread with truffle spread and fresh mortadella. Need I say more? Go here: All'antico Vinaio (Not far from Uffizi Gallery)

Caution: I know it's tempting after walking around the city looking at a big thick juicy bistecca alla fiorentina in a window and dreaming of ordering it for dinner. But I'm going to share some advice with you from my dear friend from Florence- you must travel outside of the city to eat a real bistecca alla fiorentina.

Outside All'antico Vinaio. There are multiple shop locations on the same street. Little places to pop in and order. No place to sit. It's worth the wait.
