There's a famous saying in Italian, 'Vedi Napoli e poi muori'. In English, 'See Naples and then die'.
I've seen Naples and now I can die. (That's a pretty heavy sentence. I don't want to die.) But I saw the beauty of Naples. For me, eating a pizza in Naples was on my bucket list and I got to do that!
It's a well known phrase that was made popular by the German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. At age 37 he visited the city in 1787.
I wish I could tell my Roman taxi driver that I can die now. Because I finally saw Naples. I'll never forget one evening while in Rome, I took a taxi home. And the taxi driver asked if I ever visited Naples. I said no. Well he got very animated and insisted I visit Rome- using his hands and stepping out of the car passionately explaining why Naples is beautiful (I was worried if it was a scam but it wasn't just a passionate conversation)
There's a lot of to see and eat in Naples. And a ton of articles/websites suggesting what to do, see, and eat. Here's what I saw in my brief visit to the beautiful city of Naples.
Shopping- on Via San Gregorio Armeno for a presepio.

Eating - where the margherita pizza was invented.
Praying- at Cattedrale di San Gennaro - named after the city's patron saint - Saint Januarius.
Getting lost- a street in centro storico- not for tourists to cruise around.
