Caverns

I needed an escape, a quick trip out of the city. An adventure. But it was about 20 degrees. Too cold to do anything outside. But the sun shining. Too nice for just a trip to the movies. I know there are endless things to do and places to visit in DC, so I was determined to find something to do on my day off. Viola- a trip to Luray Caverns.

I've always wanted to visit and see what this natural geological wonder is all about. It's fascinated me to wonder what this large cave looks like. All those jagged stones from minerals. I had no idea how large some of the caves were. The ceilings are high and the formations are huge.

It's well lite. I can't imagine discovering this place with just candle light. I didn't feel claustrophobic. I was in awe of the cave.
