Cucina a Volo

Union Market on a Friday night in DC is jammed packed. There's a food station for every kind of cuisine. There's Rappahannock Oyster Co., DC Dosa, Saison Waffle Bar, The BBQ Joint, Bidwell Restaurant, and so much more!

So on a recent Friday night I grabbed dinner at Union Market with my boyfriend. We couldn't decide on a place where we both wanted to eat. So he went Southern ordering shrimps & grits and etouffee from Puddin.

And I was craving a dish of homemade Italian pasta. I ordered from Cucina a Volo. It was worth the wait. It was a long line! I ordered homemade fettuccine with lamb ragu. Hmmm it was so good!

The pasta was piping hot when I got the dish. So I had to wait what felt like 30 minutes to eat so I wouldn't burn my tongue. My boyfriend taste tested the dish and he suggested it needed some fresh cracked pepper. In my opinion the pasta was delizioso. We both agreed the fresh pasta was made to perfection.

What was missing? A glass of vino and a slice of fresh bread per fare la scarpetta to soak up the remaining ragu.
